Right then, that will be it from this contest. The next game of SA20 2024/25 is set to be played between Durban Super Giants and Pretoria Capitals. That game will start at 9 pm IST (3.30 pm GMT). But as you know, you can always join early for all the build-up. Until then, take care, and cheers!

Delano Potgieter is the Player of the Match. He is up for a chat and says he is delighted with his performance and contribution to the team's victory. Mentions that this is the first time he has bowled for MI Cape Town in three seasons and he hopes to get an injury-free run in the tournament. He closes by saying he just kept things simple, did not look to bowl the slower ball, and just kept it in the line of stumps and it worked out well for him.

Rashid Khan the skipper of MI Cape Town says that is the start they were after at the start of the season. Mentions that they have had a couple of tough years and wickets early was a setback but Brevis batted superbly along with Colin. Closes by saying that in T20 every side is after a good start with the ball and having Trent in the side almost guarantees it.

Aiden Markram the skipper of Sunrisers Eastern Cape says it was a tough day around them but such things happen in T20. Mentions that they'll have a quick chat inside the dressing room and they'll move on. Reckons it was pleasing to see the way his bowlers bowled in the Power Play. Closes by acknowledging that Brevis was striking the ball well today and they allowed a bit too many at the end which they later failed to chase.

The Presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the match, MI Cape Town posted a competitive total, largely thanks to Dewald Brevis's solid half-century. Brevis's knock provided the foundation, while other MI batters contributed with useful cameos in the 20s, helping the team reach a decent score. The Sunrisers' bowling unit shared the wickets, with Marco Jansen and Gleeson claiming two each, while Swanepoel, Dawson, and Harmer chipped in with one wicket apiece.

The MI Cape Town bowling unit was exceptional, never allowing the Sunrisers to settle. They broke the backbone of the chase with wickets throughout, showcasing their depth and skill. Delano was the star of the show, taking a five-wicket haul that proved decisive. Trent Boult also delivered, doing what he does best by taking two crucial wickets at the top of the order.

The Sunrisers' chase was lackluster, as they failed to gain momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals. Despite facing a decent total, no Sunrisers batter could impose themselves on the game, and the team's innings eventually fizzled out.

MI Cape Town have made a resounding statement in the tournament, defeating Sunrisers by a convincing 97-run margin. This was a one-sided affair, with MI Cape Town dominating proceedings from start to finish.
